Praline Sauce or Syrup

Typically speaking an American praline would include cream. Praline in general is a word that means different things in different parts of the globe.

From a box sold in Columbiaville, Michigan.

Praline Sauce or Syrup

1 c. (packed) brown sugar
1/2 c. light corn syrup
1/4 c. water
1 t. cornstarch
dash salt
1/2 c. chopped pecans
1 T. butter or margarine

Combine first 5 ingredients in heavy pan; mix. Cook over moderate heat, stirring constantly until sauce thickens and clears. Stir in nuts and butter. Lower heat and keep warm.

Ladle over ice cream, pancakes or crepes.
