From a box sold in Nampa, Idaho.
- 1 cup Crystal sugar
- 1/2 c. butter — small pieces
- 1/2 c. molasses and
- 1/2 c. water
Heat 110 deg. F.
Stir constantly–remove and stir until butter melts.
- 3 cups flour–sifted
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. ginger, and
- 1/4 tsp. cloves
Add gradually: dry ingredients to cooled sugar mixture–cover, chill overnight–or age up to one week.
Place: chilled dough–1/4 at a time on well-floured surface. Knead 10 strokes–coat dough with flour–roll out to 1/16th inch thickness.
Cut: into desired shapes–place on greased baking sheet.
Bake: 375 deg. for 5 to 8 minutes.
