With walnuts and apricot jam.
From a box sold in Nampa, Idaho.
1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1 c. (2 sticks) butter or margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
1-3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. chopped walnuts
1/2 c. apricot jam
Beat together sugar, butter, egg and vanilla until smooth and creamy. Stir in flour and nuts. Spoon half the batter evenly into a greased 9-inch square pan.
Spread batter evenly with jam. Cover jam with remaining batter. Bake in 325 deg. oven 50 minutes. Cool 10 minutes.
Cut into 1×2 inch bars.
