A classic warm weather recipe.

Angel Food Cake
[Omitted for redundancy: 1 cup flour]
1-1/2 cups sugar
1-1/2 egg whites
1/2 tsp. salt
1-1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. vanilla
1-1/4 tsp. almond extract
1 cup sifted cake flour
Add salt to egg whites and beat until frothy. Add cream of tartar and continue beating until firm but not dry.
Divide sugar in half and fold 3/4 cup gradually.
Add flavoring to the sifted flour. Add sugar and sift both ingredients together once. Fold into the egg mixture.
Pour into a tube pan. Bake in slow oven 300, then 325 deg. F., 1 hour.
