Cucumber Relish

With onions, sugar optional.

From the box of A.D. from Lutz, Florida, by way of Pennsylvania in the 1940s, and originating in Ohio in the 1920s.

Cucumber Relish

3 quarts of sliced cucumbers and 3 large onions, sliced; sprinkle with salt and let stand 30 minutes, then drain.

Scald 1 pt. of vinegar, 1 Tbsp. celery seed; add cucumbers and onions.

Boil a few minutes and seal hot. Sugar may be added if you desire them sweet.
