If this was one serving, it’d be a main course, maybe. But six mussels seems like an appetizer, and a small one at that. I’d suggest omitting the olive oil and reducing the wine to about half a cup, which would bring this closer to 200 calories for six mussels. At about twelve grams of protein, that’s not a terrible appetizer if you’re looking to count calories.

Mussels Tony’s Style
2 t. olive oil
3/4 c. white wine
1 t. minced garlic
12 mussels, cleaned
1/4 c. finely chopped tomatoes
1 T. fresh basil
1/8 t. red pepper flakes
In skillet, heat oil (medium-high heat). Add white wine, garlic and mussels.
Cover and cook until mussels open, 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in tomato, basil and red pepper flakes.
