Brownies

A traditional version.

From the box of A.D. from Lutz, Florida, by way of Pennsylvania in the 1940s, and originating in Ohio in the 1920s.

Brownies

[Ingredients:
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
2 squares chocolate, melted
1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. chopped nut meats]

Cream 1/2 c. butter and 1 c. sugar. Add 2 eggs well beaten, 2 squares of melted chocolate, 1/2 c. flour sifted with 1/4 tsp. of salt and 1/2 tsp. of baking powder.

Then add four Tbsp. of chopped nut meats. Spread on greased baking pans and bake for 15 minutes. Cut in squares as soon as taken from the oven.

Yesterdish suggestion: Bake at 350 deg. F.
