I need to research the origin of the molded fruit salad. We’ve seen quite a few in this box.
From the box of D.W. from Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Simple Salad
1 box orange-pineapple flavored gelatin
1 cup hot water
1 can mandarin oranges
1 pkg. Cool Whip (large)
Dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Drain mandarin oranges and add enough cold water to make 3/4 cup. Stir into hot dissolved gelatin.
When it starts to congeal, add Cool Whip. Then add the oranges to the Whip and whip a little more. Fold into the gelatin and let set a while before serving.
Note: can use all kinds of Jell-o and pineapple with that.
