Chocolate Goodie

A chocolate cream pie that seems like it should be from a label, somewhere? But I haven’t had any luck finding the label. I’ve searched Cool Whip recipes and Philadelphia Cream Cheese recipes. Any thoughts? Pudding labels would be next, I assume?

From a box sold in Columbiaville, Michigan.

Yesterdish, This has several names. My sister Lori calls it 4 layer dessert. I’ve also found it called Better than Robert Redford.

My mother used to make this in the 1970s and ’80s, but her recipe called for combining chocolate and vanilla pudding mixes instead of just the straight chocolate that you show here, and it specified chopped pecans instead of just “nuts.” She says she got the recipe sometime in the seventies at the Texas State Fair in a Texas Agricultural Products folder. I loved it. It was my preferred birthday dessert as a teenager.
