Banana Bread

With nuts.

Can you read the city/state? I see “Miss.,” but I don’t find any cities in Mississippi with letters like that…

Banna Bead (1 loaf)

1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar; cream together thoroughly

Add 2 eggs, one at a time; beat well.

Sift together:

  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Add to cream mixture alternately with 1 cup mashed and sieved bananas (about 3).

Fold in 1/2 cup finely chopped nuts.

Bake in 350 deg. oven for 55 got 60 minutes. Cool before slicing.

Use pan 9 x 5 x 3 — greased.

    I collect old cookbooks & love when there’s a handwritten recipe in the pages. Sometimes there’s a recipe cut out of magazine. I love reading all the old recipes.   2. I searched “saltesburg missouri” and came up with either Altenburg or Salibury in Missouri. Since the last letter in the town on the card looks like a definite “g” to me, I am going with Altenburg. . .
