A basic five ingredients.
From a box sold in Nampa, Idaho.
Melt: 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup sifted flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup quick-cooking oatmeal
- 2 Tbsp. light cream
Cook, stirring constantly just until mixture starts to bubble. Remove and stir briskly for a few seconds.
Drop: rounded teaspoonfuls about 4 inches apart on well-greased and floured baking sheets; bake only 5 or 6 cookies at a time.
Bake: 375 deg. for 5 to 6 minutes.
Cool: for 2 minutes–remove carefully and place over rolling pin until firm.
