Using Jell-o Ice Cream Powder.
From the box of A.D. from Lutz, Florida, by way of Pennsylvania in the 1940s, and originating in Ohio in the 1920s.
Peach Ice Cream
1 package vanilla Jell-o Ice Cream powder
2 cups sugar
1 quart half-and-half
1 quart peaches, pared and washed]
Dissolve one package of vanilla Jell-o Ice Cream powder and two cups sugar in one quart of milk and cream mixed. Freeze very thick, but not hard.
Pare and wash a quart of peaches. Stir them quickly into the frozen cream.
Turn the crank rapidly five minutes, then remove the dasher and set away two hours to ripen.
