Spaghetti Sauce

A vegetarian version with mushroom and tomato. Vegan, even, depending on what you use as margarine.

From a box sold in Martinez, California.

Spaghetti Sauce

3 T. margarine
1 c. sliced fresh mushroom
1/3 chopped onion
1 [clove] garlic
1 lb. can tomato
1 can tomato paste
1/2 c. water
1 T. sugar
1 bay leaf
1/4 t. basil
1/4 t. oregano
1/8 t. pepper
1 package spaghetti

Melt margarine. Add mushrooms, onion, and garlic; cook till tender.

Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover; simmer low for two hours.
