Dates, figs, nuts, honey, and bran.
From a box sold in Chicago, Illinois.
1 cup sun-dried dates
1 cup seeded raisins
1 cup walnut meats
1 cup sun-dried figs
1/2 cup wheat germ (toasted)
1 tsp. granted orange and lemon rind
1 cup sun-dried prunes
1 cup sun-dried apricots
1 cup honey
1/2 cup bran
Grind fruits and nuts through food chopper. Add orange and lemon rind. Blend the mixture by kneading. Then add bran and wheat germ. Roll into sheets 1/2 inch thick.
Cut into squares. Roll in shredded fresh coconut or grated nut meats.
May be used as filling for cookies by adding a little orange juice so it will spread easily.
