Caramelized onions for soup or burgers.
Dori loves onions. I classified this as a condiment, but for her, I also classified it as a side. (Sorry, Dori, I can’t make myself classify this as a main course.)
From a box sold in Chicago, Illinois.
2 Tablespoons oil in bottom of kettle (stainless steel) for large amount.
Slice onions in bottom (1/4 inch); turn heat on low; shake kettle until it looks like water is added, about 15 to 20 minutes. Turn heat up and cook in own water. Add salt.
Takes 3/4 hour to 1 hour.
